Writer’s note: I wrote a story when I was younger -maybe I was a preteen- and before I knew it the story was over 100 pages long. As the years went by the story evolved and characters were replaced, parts-chapters were deleted or lost, and quite often names of people and places were changed...but it's been with me for over half my life; and even though most of it is just floating around inside my brain, it's been this thing that's part of me and I'm ready to share.

A day passed, and then a week. Jaren had fallen back into his routine; nobody realized that he was one of the boys who had been caught outside of the camp's boundary. There was also no sign of Orion. Despite trying to act as though nothing had happened, a nagging worry buzzed in the back of his mind.
Had the boy really gotten into that much trouble? He knew it was foolish to disobey rules, but this didn't feel like a simple slap on the wrist. [6:30 PM] Sunnyshine: It was a day of mixed tidings; because of the muggy air amidst this part of Denon's planet-wide city, Snap's grey shirt clung to his skin in a most uncomfortable way. The Chiss man had worn simple clothing, so as to not attract unwanted attention, but his sharp red eyes and deep blue skin had drawn the gaze of more than a few passer-by. He was glad to be free of the foot traffic now, though, having turned into a more industrial area, but heat from the machinery was making him uneasy; he wouldn't be able to last here for too long, as the humidity was making it slightly difficult for him to breathe.
